CervicalCheck – The National Cervical Screening Programme provides free smear tests to women aged 25 to 60. A smear test is a simple procedure that only takes minutes and is the most effective way to detect changes in the cells of the cervix. How to arrange a free smear test To arrange a smear test you can contact a registered smeartaker of your choice to make an appointment. Thousands of GPs, practice nurses, Women’s Health, Family Planning and Well Woman Clinics all over Ireland are registered. You can see a full list in the ‘Find a smeartaker – doctor’ section of the www.cervicalcheck.ie website. If you have any questions you can call CervicalCheck on Freephone 1800 45 45 55. Women who have already availed of a CervicalCheck smear test since the start of the programme on 1 September 2008 will be automatically re-called by letter, when their next smear test is due.

Childline is a part of the ISPCC (The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). There are several ways to get in touch with us. There is a telephone service and there is an online service and there is a mobile phone texting service. Childline and Childline Online are open every day. The telephones are open 24 hours a day to every young person living in Ireland. You can write in on our website and leave us a message any time of the day or night and we will respond within 4 days. If you prefer to text, we also have a mobile phone texting service is open if you text the word “Talk” to 50101, you can talk about anything you like. It’s free to text us, but we’re only open live at specific hours. Our services are all free and confidential. We never trace calls or emails or texts. We’re never going to give out to you or tell you what to do. We help you figure out your own solutions and we’re here to listen.

Console was established in 2002 by Paul Kelly after he had experienced the grief of losing a loved one by Suicide. Through his loss, Paul recognised a need for a dedicated Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention Service here in Ireland. Since then Console has developed into a National Organisation supporting people in Suicidal Crisis and those Bereaved by Suicide through Professional Counselling, Support and Helpline Services. The Cork Sexual Health Centre: promoting & supporting sexual health without judgement Sexual Health Promotion The Health Promotion team at the Sexual Health Centre delivers skills based workshops to Schools, Youth and Community groups, parents and professionals in the Cork and Kerry area. We have been delivering training programmes since 1987.

Our workshops are accessible, comprehensive and based on enhancing positive sexual health for all. We allow young people to discuss in a format that allows them to be comfortable in the group and with the topics. Unplanned Pregnancy The Unplanned Pregnancy Counsellors provide a non-judgemental, professional and non-directive service to women experiencing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy.

We respectfully assist women to explore all their options: Choosing to continue with the pregnancy, Choosing an abortion, Choosing an adoption.

We offer: Free pregnancy counselling Free pregnancy testing Free post abortion counselling Free post abortion check-up HIV Support: is a service for clients who are HIV positive and for their significant others. It is also for those who have concerns or require information about HIV. Clients can access counselling, one-to-one personal and group support. Complementary Therapies such as massage and Reiki are also available. People with HIV may also avail of peer education training so that they can act as supports and educators in their own communities.
